As an example, a cup & saucer packed to our extra-care requirements would cost $10 to Melbourne, $12 to Adelaide, Hobart or Sydney, $18 to Brisbane, or $30 to Perth.
Extra weight adds little, just $3.50 per 5kg.
An Exciting discovery: 16th century Flemish Old Master, just in time for Christmas....

A recently purchased Old Master work with a beautiful Christmas feel, this oil on panel dates to the early 16th century. From the studio of Joos van Cleve (1480-1541), it is a remarkable piece for its sincere, humanizing portrayal of Mary, Joseph, and the Christ child, having a visit with the 'in-laws' - Anne & Joachim, Mary's parents.
This work is apparently unrecorded in recent literature. Read more about it here, or look up the stock entry here.
Very rare Worcester scalloped teabowl & saucer, painted in underglaze blue with the Peony pattern, with flower specimen and large butterfly, within a half flowerhead and pendant border, a combination unrecorded on Worcester porcelain.
Circa 1765
Provenance: John Klinger collection, Australia.
This is an important & apparently unrecorded combination of pattern and shape; in Worcester Blue & White Porcelain, it states:
..........
the Scalloped Peony (I.E.9.) ..... would seem to be the only underglaze blue pattern which appears on scallaped-edged teawares..............
This scalloped teabowl and saucer, however, has the more common Peony pattern (I.E.7.), which has been missed in publications to date.
There is a scalloped rimed jug to match this piece in the Rosenberg Collection, Geelong.
ref. WBWP I.E.9, painted border 31
#1012624 AUD $840 saucer 12.5cm wide

In Sydney:
We have just returned from exhibiting at the AAADA fair at Wharf 8, (the P&O passenger terminal) Darling Harbour, Sydney.
The fair was a success, given the uncertain financial times, as customers realize the sure investment power of antique ceramics!
Our unpack is completed, and our shop is back in order.
